Exquisite hanging diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These incredible teardrop-shaped earrings are made of silver topped 18kt rosy yellow gold and are encrusted with approximately 7.26ctw of beautiful old Mine Cut diamonds. The stones range in color from H-K and the clarity is in the SI1-SI2 range. Each earring begins with a strand of sparkling diamonds which attach to simple gold earring wires. All of the diamonds are belcher set in an open-backed settings, a very common style from the early Victorian era. Dangling from the bottom of each earring and inside the open teardrops are beautiful hanging diamonds, adding lovely movement and sparkle when worn. Very elegant and graceful, these earrings are perfect for special occasions and would make a stunning addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 3/4" long, measure 7/8" at the widest point, and are 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver topped gold, earring wires, or diamonds, all of which are intact.
