A gorgeous locket from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Gold filled, the entire front surface of this petite locket is encrusted with bead-set garnet stones. The center of the locket features a slightly larger garnet, and all of the stones are wonderfully faceted and display a lovely, rich red hue. The back of the piece is smooth and simple, and features a glass-paneled compartment, which would be perfect for storing a photograph or small memento. The piece features a complementary bail, which features a small garnet held within a bead setting. A dainty and feminine piece, this locket would make a lovely addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/4" long (including the bail at the top), and measures a little more than 3/4" wide, and is about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold fill setting. The garnets are secure and intact, and the bail is in working order.
