A fabulous and unusual translucent banded agate pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This impeccable pendant is made of 18k yellow gold and forms a diamond shape. Set on the front of the pendant is a beautiful large translucent banded agate cabochon which is bezel set at the center. The agate measures 27.9mm long by 22.1mm wide and approximately 13mm deep in its bezel setting. Surrounding the agate are four cushion cut pale green Chrysoberyl stones that equate to approximately 1ctw. Dispersed between the four cushion cut stones are 16 assorted round-cut chrysoberyl stones weighing approximately .80ctw, as well as four natural pearls that emit a pale white-grey color. Surrounding the stones is a border of beautiful pale blue enamel with a wavy white line accented with gold. The enamel is accented by scrolling gold details at the north, east, south, and western most points. Pendant's bail is also accented with the same blue and white enamel seen throughout thew piece. Included with the pendant is a substantial 14k victorian watch chain fit with a dog clip for the closure. The back of the pendant is plain and enclosed with faint hand-etched numbers that read "19865". This substantial and red-carpet worthy pendant necklace is ready to be appreciated by its new owner!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/2" long including the bail, is 1 3/4" wide, and about 1/2" thick at the thickest point. The chain measures 18" long and is 4.2mm thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the stones and pearls, all of which are intact. The enamel is in excellent condition and shows little to no signs of wear.
