fob is an adornment or a seal that hangs from the ribbon or chain of a pocket watch. Its purpose is to decorate or add weight to the watch chain itself, making it easier for the watch to be withdrawn from a pocket.

A wonderful bloodstone fob from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in 18k yellow gold, and is pyramid-shaped. The entire surface of the fob is decorated with three-dimensional motifs, which include delicate flowers and scrolling designs. The base of the fob features a square-shaped bloodstone, which displays a deep green hue with red marbling. The bloodstone is held within a bezel setting, and the base of the fob also features intricate etchings. The top of the fob features an attached bail, which is decorated with a ribbed design. A substantial and unique piece, this fob would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!

Measurements: The fob stands about 1 3/8" tall, including the handle and ring. The base of the fob measures 7/8" long and just over 3/4" wide.

Condition: The overall condition of the fob is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The bloodstone and three-dimensional details are all intact. The complementary bail is secure and in working order.
