An elegant pair of opal and diamond drop earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k gold and topped in sterling silver, each earring begins with a vertical row of three rose cut diamonds. The diamonds are held within four-prong settings. Each earring is complemented on the top by two smaller rose cut diamonds, which rest within foliage-shaped bezel settings. Overall, the diamonds which encrust the earrings have an approximate total carat weight of .70ctw. The bottom of each earring features a small opal ball, which display lovely flashes of red, blue, green, and orange. The earrings are completed by simple earring wires. A colorful pair, these earrings would make a fabulous addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 1/2" long and the diameter of the opals is slightly less than 3/8"
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or sterling silver setting. All of the diamonds and opals are secure and intact. The earring wires are in working order.
