A fantastic iolite ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, the front of the ring features 7 iolite stones running horizontally across the surface of the piece. The central oval-shaped iolite stone is the largest, and is held within a smooth and simple bezel setting. The center stone is bordered on both sides by three, smaller iolite stones, which graduate slightly in size and are held within scalloped bezel settings. All of the stones display a breathtaking bluish-black hue, which wonderfully contrast the yellow gold mounting. The shoulders of the ring feature an intricate ribbed-texture, and the remainder of the band is smooth and simple. On the backside of the largest iolite stone is an original personalized engraving, which reads: "T.P. Atkinson M. 12 Sept. 1817 OL 49". A truly spectacular piece, this ring would make a lovely addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.75, but could be easily resized. The band measures 1.81mm wide in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the iolite stones are secure and intact.
