Trefoil is a symbol made up of three overlapping circles in a clover pattern. Originating from the latin word for "three-leaved plant", this symbol has had many uses throughout history, from architecture and heraldry to religious symbolism. It has also been popular in jewelry through the ages, usually represented by a cluster of three gemstones.

A lovely trefoil ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this ring features three mine cut diamonds held within six-prong settings, which form the shape of a trefoil motif. The diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of .20ctw, and beautifully contrast the yellow gold of the piece. The band of the ring is smooth and simple, and the shoulders of the ring feature delicate leaf motif etchings. A divinely dainty piece, this ring would make the perfect addition to any Victorian jewelry collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7.5, but could easily be resized if desired. The diamond trefoil centerpiece measures a little over 1/4" wide and 3/8" tall. The band measures a little more than 1.85mm wide in the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and all of the diamonds are secure and intact.
