A superb Theodor Fahrner-inspired pendant necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era ! Crafted in sterling silver, this piece features a large centerpiece, which is composed of various juxtaposed geometric shapes. The shapes include an elongated oval, rectangle, and a half-circle. The enamelwork includes hues such as a lovely coral, aqua, and a rich blue. The surface of the pendant is also decorated with stippling details, which add a unique texture to the piece. The pendant features an additional fluted bail, which is attached to a simple sterling silver chain. The chain is secured with a simple spring ring clasp, which is stamped "920" and "N/C". The back of the pendant is marked with a "935" purity mark. A funky and colorful piece, this pendant necklace would make a lovely addition to any Art Deco-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The large pendant measures 2 1/2" tall and 1 1/8" at its widest point. The complementary chain is 16 1/2" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pedant necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting and there appears to be no chips or cracks to the enameled surface. There is also a natural patina on the piece that can be gently polished if desired. The complementary chain and attached spring ring clasp are secured and in working order.
