A simply stunning sapphire and diamond ring from the Retro (ca1940) era! This fantastic platinum piece adorns an incredible natural star sapphire cabochon at the center of a gorgeous setting. The stone weighs approximately 14.08ct. and displays a wonderful, rich purple color. In the center of the stone is a faint asterism that can be seen as it catches the light. The sapphire is prong set within a platinum setting, and is surrounding at each shoulder with two baguette cut diamonds, which weigh approximately 0.50ctw. with G color and VS range clarity, giving the ring an elegant look. A smoothly polished band wraps around the back and stamped inside of the shank is a worn “10%IRIDPLAT" purity mark. The ring is accompanied by GIA Sapphire Report #5212636744, dated May of 2021, stating that the sapphire is a natural purple corundum displaying an asterism with no indication of heat treatment. Additionally, the ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certified Gemologist in May 2024 and has a stated retail replacement value of $19,000. It looks absolutely stunning on and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 4.5, but could easily be resized if desired. The face of the ring measures slightly more than 7/8" wide, 1/2” tall, and sits 5/8” above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the platinum mounting and the sapphire and all of the diamonds are intact.
