An incredible gemstone ring from the Georgian (ca1750) era! Crafted in 12k gold and sterling silver, this magnificent ring features a colorful centerpiece encrusted with beautiful foil-backed paste stones. The center gem is an oval cut amethyst and exhibits a pastel shade of light pink. Surrounding the amethyst are 11 sparkling foil backed pastes, forming a beautiful halo! All of the stones are set in a closed back silver-topped shared prong setting. Completing the design is an ornate gold mounting, complete with sculpted pillar-style shoulders, a smooth gold band, and fine engraved accents. An outstanding statement ring, it would make an impressive addition to any Georgian jewelry collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.25, but could be resized. The teardrop centerpiece measures just over 1/2" wide, just under 1/2" tall, and rests 3/16" above the finger when worn. The gold band measures 2mm wide in the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and silver setting. All of the gemstones within the centerpiece are intact and securely set. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry, and adds to its unique beauty.
