A stunning and unusual cat's star sapphire and diamond ring from the early Edwardian (ca1900) era! This fabulous piece is made of 14k yellow gold and platinum and adorns a round dark sapphire cabochon in the center of a platinum frame. The cabochon, which weighs approximately 4.0ctw, has a gorgeous deep greenish black color with a golden hued asterism. The stone is bezel set in platinum, with the remainder of the setting finished in rosy yellow gold. The mounting is intricately engraved all over with floral detail and subtle milgrain beadwork. The gallery of the ring is open and also elegantly detailed to match the design of the ring. The band tapers towards the back and is marked "14K" on the interior of the shank. This cocktail ring is a fabulous statement piece and is perfect for any mixed-metal lover!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7 but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting and the stone is intact.
