A gorgeous lavalier pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This lovely piece is crafted in 18k gold and sterling silver and has an elegant chandelier design. The pendant hangs from a thin sterling silver chain, which is attached to the pin/pendant by two small jump rings. The majority of the pin/pendant is similar in shape to an umbrella. The umbrella shaped component is adorned with 21 old mine cut diamonds, which are held within a variety of bezel and bead settings. Dangling from the large component is another link which features four Burmese rubies held within bezel settings. The rubies vary in cut, but all display a wonderful reddish-pink hue. The dangling link also features a single, bezel set old mine cut diamond. Overall, the diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of 1.25ctw, and the rubies 1.30ctw. The back of the pin/pendant features a simple pin clasp. Suitable for daily wear or special occasions, this luscious pendant would look marvelous paired with a favorite gold chain!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, measures 1 1/2" across at its widest point, and is about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or sterling silver setting. All of the diamonds and rubies are secure and intact. The chain to which is the pin/pendant is secure and in working condition. The spring ring, which secures the chain and the pin clasp at the back of the pin/pendant are both intact and in great condition.
