Art Deco Sterling Silver Carnelian Earrings

These wonderful carnelian earrings are from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Made of sterling silver, they have a long, dramatic dangling design. Each earring is decorated with a rich carnelian drop and sparkling marcasites set in cascading links. The earrings start with a post backing on a small surmount, which fastens to a large central link featuring intricate milgrain detailing and faceted marcasites. Hanging from the large link are three additional links, including the carnelian flanked by two silver drops. Each carnelian stone is teardrop shaped and polished, displaying a lovely deep orange color. The delicate marcasite stones add a gorgeous sparkle, making the perfect finishing touch! When worn, the earrings swing with lovely movement and frame the face beautifully. They have a strong Art Deco style, and would look wonderful worn day or night.
Measurements: The earrings hang 3" long, measure 5/8" across at the widest point, and are just over 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting or to the carnelian and marcasite stones, all of which are intact. The earring posts are secure and in good condition. There is a natural patina that gives a darkened antique appearance to the silver setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
