Art Deco 18k/Platinum Diamond Blue Enamel Guilloche Watch Pendant Necklace

Guilloché (in English usually "Guilloche") is an engraving technique in in which a very precise, intricate pattern is mechanically etched into an underlying material with very fine detail. Most commonly, the Guilloche surface was then enameled and the repetitive, intricate design would show through the colorful enamel.

A spectacular and unusual Guilloché enamel watch pendant and chain from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this extra long enamel chain has an enamel and diamond watch pendant that hangs from the center and each piece appears to be original, including the clasp. The chain is comprised of long blue Guilloche enamel cylinder links which are separated lengths of simple cable chain. The ornate links come together at a bezel set diamond connector that is accented with milgrained details and continue into a lorgnette extension ending in a simple spring ring clasp. The watch pendant is simply marvelous! Made of an 18kt yellow gold case, the watch has an intricate Guilloche enamel face with a platinum open circle design riveted into the center, set with small rose cut diamonds. The design has 21 old Rose Cut diamonds clustered within it and milgrained details. The clock has a textured cream face with enamel details and a second hand set below the main hands. The numbers are black in color as well as the minute marks and numbers. Guilloche enamel detailing boarders the watch face and is surrounded by a simple white enamel patterned frame. The watch winds at the bottom and is detailed with a more intricate enameling. The watch is fully functional but must be wound on a regular basis. The blue color of the enameling is fantastic and vivid. It's a magnificent watch pendant and chain and would make a lovely addition to any collection!

Measurements: The chain measures approximately 26 1/4" long with a 1 5/8" lorgnette extension. The watch pendent measures slightly less than 1 1/2" long, 1 1/4" at the widest point and about 3/8" in depth.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant and chain is excellent. The enameled watch pendant is in fine condition with no apparent chips or nicks. The enameled chain is also in fine condition with only a no major nicks and all of the diamonds are intact. The watch keeps perfect time as long as it is wound regularly.
