A beautiful pair of carved jade earrings from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, each earring begins with a circular surmount. The center of each surmount features a small pearl, which rests within a starburst-shaped frame. Another link, which resembles the letter "m" hangs from the surmount, and is decorated with small gold line-work and three-dimensional balls. The "m" shaped link is followed by an oblong piece of carved jade. The jade is carved to resemble a delicate leaf, and displays a lovely green hue with milky white marbling. The jade slab features a triangular cap, which is decorated with a small single cut diamond held within a four-prong setting. The cap is also decorated with scrolling wirework and three-dimensional balls. The earrings are completed by simple earring wires, and the back of each earring feature a "14K" purity mark. A colorful and wonderful pair of Art Deco earrings, this pair would make a fantastic addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2" in total length. The carved jade drops measure 1 1/8" long and 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or earring wires. The pearls, diamonds, and carved jade plaques are all secure and intact.
