A charming diamond frog pin from the Late Victorian (ca1900) era! This wonderful diamond encrusted piece depicts a handsome frog made of gilded silver. The 3-dimensional design is covered in pavé set rose cut diamonds, which give a marvelous glittering appearance to the piece! Two faceted ruby stones represent each of the frog’s eyes. The rubies, which are bezel set, are a vibrant, luscious pop of color! The whimsical frog has outstretched legs, webbed feet, and an open smiling mouth. Attached underneath is a secure bar pin and c-catch clasp, making it simple to fasten the brooch to a favorite garment. It's a wonderful and unusual antique pin and a must have for the frog lover!
Measurement: The pin measures 1 1/4" long, 1 1/4" wide at the back legs, 5/8" wide across the body, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver gilt setting or to any of the diamond and ruby stones, all of which are intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
