A beautiful diamond crescent moon necklace from the Victorian era (ca1880)! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold and topped in sterling silver, approximately 1ctw of Old Mine Cut and Rose Cut diamonds adorn the surface. The diamonds sparkle in the elegant floral design that fills the crescent, and the inner curve of the crescent features a sparkling diamond row. A gold filigree wirework design is visible from the side of the pendant, completing the feminine design. Originally worn as a pin, the crescent has since been converted into a pendant that now hangs from a sterling silver chain, fastening with a lobster clasp in the back marked "925". This celestial piece is simply stunning in person and would look wonderful worn at any time of day. It would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 19" long. The crescent pendant has a 1 1/4" diameter and measures approximately 1/4" at its deepest points.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling-topped gold setting or to any of the diamonds, all of which are intact. The chain and lobster clasp are secure and in good working condition.
