Victorian 15k Enameled Locket Ring

A very unique and wonderful ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This piece is made of 15k brassy yellow gold and features a lovely and intricate design. At the center is a shield-shaped seal which has a scrolled etched design with black and blue enamel details. The centerpiece is hinged and opens to reveal the original photo of a haunting gentleman under a crystal face. The disguised compartment feature of the ring is not immediately evident due to its seamless design, making it a subtle and secretive keepsake piece! The shoulders also feature panels of blue enamel and thatched etching that continues down the tapering shank. A very special Victorian piece, it looks simply wonderful when worn and is a must for any collector!
Measurements: The ring has a small finger size of 4.5. It could be re-sized slightly, however, because of the design, we would recommend keeping it as is. The heart centerpiece measures a little less than 3/8" tall and slightly more than 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is great. There is some normal surface wear to the ring which is not unusual for a Victorian era piece. The hinged locket opens easily and stays securely closed and the original hair locket and glass are intact. The back of the ring has some wear due to age and resizing, however, this is not noticeable when the ring is worn.
