A stunning filigree onyx pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Set in 14k white gold, this beautiful piece is comprised of a large black onyx plaque with a fabulous filigree and diamond appliqué which is pin set to the front of the onyx. The beautiful white gold frame is very ornate and detailed and stands out dramatically against the rich black background. Very fine filigree wirework graces the front of the piece, with a subtle spiderweb-like motif that is absolutely encrusted with pave and old mine cut diamonds. Delicate milgrain detail adds a lovely finishing touch to the already lovely design. The pendant hangs from a complementary white gold and diamond filigree bail which is suspended from the accompanying 14k white gold fancy link lorgnette chain. The chain is sprinkled with bezel set old mine cuts amidst oblong filigree links. The pendant is suspended from the lorgnette pendant drop via a small spring ring. All told, the estimated combined carat weight of the pendant and chain equates to approximately 1.50ctw with a color range of I-J, VS2-SI1 range clarity. An absolutely gorgeous Art Deco piece, it merges perfectly into modern fashion and would look fabulous worn every day!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 3" long, including the pendant drop. The pendant is slightly less than 1 1/4" at the widest point. The wearable length of the chain is 22".
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the white gold setting or to the onyx plaque, and the diamonds are intact. The bail is secure and in good condition. The pendant drop's spring ring opens and closes with ease.
