Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Repousse Woman Locket

A simply beautiful repousse locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era. Made of sterling silver, the locket has the wonderful raised image of a beautiful woman in profile on the front surface. The image is intricately detailed with long flowing locks of hair, a romantic expression on her face as she gazes ahead, and lovely flowers in her hair. The surface of the silver has a wonderful natural patina which adds to the richness of the piece. The locket is oval in shape and hangs from a large silver bail, making it easy to hang and wear from a chain. It opens from the side to reveal a space inside for a special photograph, and is stamped "STERLING" inside. A beautiful work of art, this gorgeous locket would look lovely worn everyday and would make a special keepsake addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs 1 3/4" long, is 1 1/8" wide, and is 3/8" thick at its thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The locket opens easily and closes securely, and the bail is intact and in good working condition.
