Victorian Silver Gilt & Green Floral Enamel Seashell Charm
An unusual sea-inspired charm from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in silver gilt, this lovely 3-dimensional piece forms the shape of a miniature clam shell. Both sides of the hollow piece have a realistic ridged texture. Covering the front surface is a beautiful enameled design, featuring leaves and blooming pink flowers above a deep emerald green background. The ridged texture shows through the semi-translucent enamel along the edges, a beautiful effect! Completing the design is a simple jump ring bail at the top, perfect for hanging the piece from a chain or a favorite charm bracelet. A fun and artistic piece, it would make a unique addition to any collection!
Measurements: The charm hangs 7/8" long, measures 5/8" wide and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver gilt setting. The enamel remains in very well-preserved antique condition, with only minor surface wear along the edge. The ring bail is securely attached at the top.
