Victorian Gold-Filled "Industrial Style" Watch Chain/Necklace 14"
A fantastic industrial style watch chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is crafted in yellow gold-filled and is comprised of long, double-sided bar links which alternate with shorter, complimentary links. The larger oval-shaped links display a coil at the center, flanked by square-shaped ends with delicate, round cut-outs. In between are smaller "buckle" links, adorned with delicate loops that wrap around the center. Completing the design are two strands of chain links at the back, slightly lengthening the overall piece. Thanks to its design and length, the piece could be used interchangeably as a pocket watch chain, or as a choker-style necklace. It fastens at the back with a swivel clasp (stamped "F") and spring ring clasp that link securely together. Whether worn alone, or paired with a favorite pendant or locket, the design offers wonderful versatility and makes a unique statement piece!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 14" long. Each elongated link measures about 1" long and a little less than 1/4" wide. The buckle-style links measure 5/8" long and 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled setting. Both clasps fasten securely and are in good working condition.
