Victorian 18kt Pearl + Enamel Earrings, Locket Necklace, and Bracelet Set
A magnificent 3-piece set from the Victorian (ca1871) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, this impressive ensemble includes a pair of earrings, a locket necklace, and a bangle bracelet. Each piece is decorated with a matching grid-like pattern of natural pearls and royal blue enamel. The pearls display a creamy white color and a high luster surface, contrasting beautifully with the deep blue enamel and vibrant gold setting.
The earrings remain comfortably lightweight when worn framing the face beautifully.
The locket, which is large in size hangs from an antique chain. The back of the locket is engraved with the inscription, "E.T.B. Nov. 14th 1871" in beautiful script. A complimentary fluted bail lined with pearls is attached at the top. When opened, the locket reveals two glass-covered compartments to display special photographs. The handmade gold chain is comprised of smooth and textured split links, meeting at a spring ring clasp in the back.
The bangle bracelet features a pearl and enamel centerpiece at the front. It is framed by flourishes on either side, set along the smooth gold band. A hidden locket can be found on the underside of the bracelet, located just behind the centerpiece. A removable glass frame covers the hollow space, perfect for a small photograph or memento. The hinged bangle opens at the side, fastening with a push clasp that is incorporated seamlessly into the design.
Whether worn individually or displayed as a complete set, this trio of accessories provides endless versatility! A breathtaking jewelry set, this outstanding Victorian ensemble would make a truly remarkable addition to any collection.
Measurement: The earrings hang approximately 2" long (including the wires) and measures about 5/8" wide and 1/4" thick. The pendant/locket hangs approximately 2 1/8" long (including the bail) and measures about 1 7/8" wide and 3/8" thick. The chain measures 17.5" long and is a little more than 1/8" thick. The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/8" wide and about 1 7/8" tall. It would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The round pearl centerpiece measures about 1 1/4" in diameter and the surface of the bangle measures about 7/8 wide and 1/16 thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the ensemble is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the natural pearls are secure and intact. The earring wires, locket bail, hinged bracelet clasp, and chain clasp are all secure and in good working order. The glass covered locket spaces remain intact. The blue enamel shows some minor signs of wear due to age, but remains in excellent antique condition. The slightly faded areas are not noticeable when worn, and do not detract from the beauty of the design.
