Victorian 14kt Demantoid Garnet + Diamond Cluster Ring 0.65ct center
A beautiful demantoid garnet and diamond ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this gorgeous piece holds a stunning demantoid garnet, weighing 0.65ct at its center. Demantoid garnets are naturally green, and this faceted stone displays a wonderful and lively hue in its open back setting. Encircling the stone are eight sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds, weighing 0.80ctw collectively, a perfect compliment to the colorful center. The diamonds rest in a prong setting creating a lovely wirework gallery that surrounds the centerpiece and completing the design is a smoothly polished double band that graduates slightly towards the back. Stamped inside of the shank is a faded number "18122." A gorgeous piece, it would look wonderful worn on special occasions, or could make a unique gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7.5, but could easily be resized if desired. The demantoid and diamond centerpiece measures a little under 1/2" in diameter and rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The band measures 1.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the demantoid and diamond are intact and securely set.
