Victorian 14kt Delicate Bar Link Lorgnette Chain 26"
A lovely lorgnette chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in 14kt gold, and is comprised of delicate bar links that alternate with strands of fine chain. Each individual bar link has a thin, elongated shape with a lightly grooved surface. Hanging at the center of the necklace is a lorgnette-style chain extension ending with a watch clasp. At the back of the necklace is a spring ring clasp (stamped "14K"), although the length of the piece also makes it possible to slip comfortably on and off overhead. A wonderful everyday chain, it would be ideal for hanging a special pendant, fob, or locket at the center, which can be easily interchanged for endless versatility!
Measurements: The entire necklace measures approximately 26" long. The lorgnette extension at the center hangs 3 3/8" long (including the watch clasp). Each delicate gold bar link is approximately 3/8" long and 1mm thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the gold links. The spring ring clasp and watch clasp both fasten securely and are in good working condition.
