A stunning amethyst cocktail ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this relatively large piece creates a bold and dramatic appeal when worn. An incredible oval-shaped amethyst stone rests at the center of a raised multi-prong setting, which creates a wonderful textured, scalloped edge design. The facets in the stone catch the light beautifully with every turn, and the open back setting allows the light to filter through, showcasing the magnificent, vivid purple color. Delicate airline cutouts are visible below the setting and a smoothly polished band wraps around the back, completing the stunning design. The shoulders of the ring are adorned with intricate starburst shaped motifs and intricate beadwork, which further contribute to the unique appeal of the piece. An impressive and eye-catching cocktail ring, it makes a fabulous statement and would look wonderful worn on special occasions!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.75 but could be re-sized. The amethyst centerpiece measures approximately 5/8" tall and 1/2" wide, and rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The band measures about 2.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The amethyst is intact and securely set.
