Product Details

This fabulous sterling locket/pendant is a signed Vintage piece by Napier from the 1940s! The stylish design consists of a large padlock heart, which has a unique sliding feature, revealing a hidden locket compartment below. Both sides of the piece are left simple and smooth, accented with a keyhole cutout on the front surface. A pin screw at the base hinges the design together, allowing the heart to slide open sideways from the top, revealing a circular locket frame hidden within the interior, surrounded by a twisted wirework rope border nestled inside. A notch at the top of the heart locks into one side of the handle when closed, fastening the locket shut and stamped inside is the authentic "NAPIER STERLING" signature hallmark. A bold and fashionable vintage piece, it merges effortlessly into modern day fashion, and would make a fun addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The padlock locket/pendant measures 2" tall, is 1 3/8" wide, and 3/16" thick.

Condition:  The overall condition of the piece is great. Besides normal surface wear, including a some dings at the top corner of the heart on both sides, there is no serious damage to the sterling silver setting. The sliding feature and locket face are in good working condition, and the padlock handle and bail at the top are secure. It appears that the heart padlock used to have a gilded finish, which is visible along the crevices of the piece and on the inside. If desired, the piece could again be plated to give it the original golden color.
