Edwardian 14kt/Sterling Emerald + Diamond Chandelier Earrings
An exquisite pair of gemstone chandelier earrings from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold topped in sterling silver, these incredible earrings are adorned with sparkling diamonds and vibrant emeralds. Each earring displays a long geometrically shaped design comprised of alternating diamond clusters and uniquely cut emerald stones. Three strands of Pear Cut emerald links swing freely from the bottom, creating the fabulous and elegant chandelier style appeal. Together, the pair consists of four baguette cut diamonds and 44 old European Cut diamonds, which display I-J range color and SI1-I1 clarity, collectively weighing approximately 1.60ctw. The luscious emeralds consist of various cuts including: 6 Pear, 2 Half-Moon, 6 Hexagonal, 6 Pentagonal and 6 Rectangular Step Cut, weighing approximately 6.40ctw combined. All of the gorgeous stones rest in an open-back milgrain bezel setting, allowing the light to beautifully catch each facet with every turn. Finishing the design is a simple post and earring back at the top of a diamond shaped topper, allowing them to swing with lovely movement and perfectly frame the face. Despite their substantial size, the earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear. They would look stunning worn on special occasions and would make an incredible addition to any Edwardian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, measures about 3/4" wide, and is a little more than 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver and gold setting. All of the diamonds and emeralds are intact and securely set. The earring posts and back are intact and in good working order.
