A breathtaking opal and diamond ring from the Art Nouveau era (ca1900)! This gorgeous piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and has a large oval shaped opal cabochon set in the center. The opal is mesmerizing and has vibrant hues of greens, yellows, blues, violet, and orange. Surrounding the opal are 14 sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds that form a glittering border. Each diamond is held within a white gold prong setting, and collectively weigh .25ctw total. The smooth band is stamped "14K" and "2" on either side. The ring looks absolutely marvelous when worn and would make a dazzling addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.25 but could easily be resized. The opal stone, including the diamond border, measures 1/2" at its widest point, 5/8" at the tallest point and has a depth of approximately 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the opal stone. All of the diamonds are securely set and intact.
