Art Deco Chalcedony, Rock Quartz Crystal + Marcasite Bead Necklace 15.5"
A stunning multi-stone necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This fabulous necklace is comprised of beautiful periwinkle-blue chalcedony beads, which are split in the center and separated by faceted rock crystal discs. The beaded links graduate in size, and in between each one is a row of delicate rock quartz crystal spacer discs beads, which are faceted for a sparkling effect. Resting at the center of the piece is a geometric pendant, which features a trio of chalcedony stones separated by rows of delicate marcasites. The necklace is hand strung on white thread, and fastens with a push clasp that is disguised within the central pendant. This colorful vintage necklace merges effortlessly into modern fashion, and would make an eye-catching accessory!
Measurements: The necklace measures 15.5" in total length. The central pendant measures 1 1/2" wide, 5/8" tall, and 1/4" thick. The largest split bead measures 11mm in size, and the smallest measures 8mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the chalcedony or rock quartz crystal beads and discs. All of the marcasites are intact, and the clasp fastens securely. There is a natural patina that gives a darkened appearance to the sterling pendant and clasp, which is normal for antique jewelry, but could be polished for a brighter look if desired.
