Victorian Petite 9kt/Sterling Diamond Cluster Necklace
A lovely diamond necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This delicate compilation piece is comprised an antique diamond pendant that has been attached to a modern sterling chain. The petite diamond pendant is crafted in 9kt gold (indicating English origin) and topped in sterling silver. Its flower-like shape is formed by a cluster of 8 rose cut diamond "petals," which surround a mine cut diamond at the center. The sparkling diamonds are belcher set within a closed foil-back setting. Attached to either side of the charm is the sterling chain, which fastens with a secure lobster clasp in the back. The delicate and beautiful design makes this a perfect piece for everyday wear!
Measurements: The diamond cluster pendant has a 3/8" diameter, and is 3/16" thick. The chain measures 16.5" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting. All of the diamonds are intact, and free of any noticeable chips or scratches. The antique foil-back setting accentuates the variations in color and shape within the diamonds, which is normal for jewelry of this age. The chain is securely attached, and the lobster clasp is in good working condition. A natural untouched patina remains on the surface of the setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
