Victorian 14kt Diamond Repousse Horse Locket
A wonderful equestrian inspired locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is made of 14kt gold, and has the wonderfully detailed image of a stately horse's head on the front. The raised repousse motif shows the horse's head in profile, fitted with a bridle and reigns. A delicate diamond rests in the horse's eye, and a second diamond accents the bottom of the piece. When opened, the locket reveals a removable round frame to store a special photograph inside. At the top of the piece is a simple gold bail to hang the locket from a chain. Perfect for the equestrian enthusiast, this everyday piece would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 1/4" long, has a 1" diameter, and measures 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, is no apparent damage to the gold setting or repousse image. Both accent diamonds are intact, and the bail is securely attached. The locket opens easily and closes securely, and the frame inside is intact.
