Edwardian 18kt/Platinum Rose Cut Diamond Ring 0.30ct
An unusual diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This engagement-style ring has a lovely mixed metals design crafted in platinum-topped 18kt yellow gold. A sparkling old Rose Cut diamond is prong set at the center, weighing approximately 0.30ct and held within an open-backed setting. A smooth gold band which tapers slightly at either shoulder completes the wonderful design, making it a simple yet stunning piece when worn. A beautiful and artistic antique ring, it would make a wonderful everyday piece or a unique alternative engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has finger size 5.5, but could easily be resized. The diamond centerpiece rests slightly less than 1/4" above the finger when worn, and the band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting or to the Rose Cut diamond, which is intact and securely set. Due to the hand cut nature of old rose cut diamonds, the stone does not have perfect symmetry; this reflects the age and genuine appearance of an antique diamond.
