Product Details

A lovely diamond ladies watch from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful watch is crafted in platinum and rolled gold plate and has a delicate and feminine design. The sleek rectangular watch face made of platinum has a stylish "step" design at each side, a very common Art Deco motif. Sparkling single cut diamonds line the edges and steps of the watch in a pavé setting, accented with fine milgrain detail. The face shows metallic blue hands, vintage numerals in black lettering, and the word "SWISS" below the crystal. The rolled gold plate watch band is formed by two doubled strands of a finely woven chain, which are attached to a folding snap clasp at the ends. A safety latch and chain provides extra security when worn. (The watch is pictured with the safety chain unhooked to show the length of the piece when laid flat.) Stamped on the clasp is "U.S.A. 1/40 - 10K. R.G.P." The interior of the watch is also marked "Platinum" inside. A stunning vintage timepiece, this elegant watch would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurement: The entire length of the watch and band measures approximately 6 3/4" long and would fit nicely on an average or medium sized wrist. The rectangular watch face measures 1 1/4" long, 3/8" wide, and 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the watch is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the rolled gold plate setting, which shows only minor surface wear to the back. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The crystal is intact and free of chips or scratches. The watch band remains in good condition, and the clasp, safety latch, and safety chain are all in good working order. Watches of this era should be cleaned and oiled periodically as part of proper maintenance.
