Art Deco Huge Cherry Amber Bead Necklace & 14kt Clasp
A fantastic strand of cherry amber beads from the Art Deco (ca1930) era! This lovely necklace is comprised of 5 natural amber beads, which are hand strung on dark thread. The beads graduate in size, with the largest beads resting prominently at the center, and the smallest at the ends. Each bead is smoothly polished, and displays a rich, deep cherry color. The central beads are remarkably substantial, creating quite an impressive statement piece! At the the back of the necklace is a gold filigree clasp, which is stamped "14K" on the hook. However, the generous length of the necklace allows it to slip easily on and off overhead. When worn, the necklace hangs long and could be paired with other beaded pieces for a layered look, or worn on its own as a special accessory!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 36.5" long, including the clasp. The largest central bead measures 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/8" thick. The smallest bead at the end measures 1/2" wide and slightly more than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The necklace is in very good vintage condition. All of the beads are intact and securely strung. The filigree hook clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition. There is some normal light surface wear to the amber beads, including chips in two of the beads near the back. However, the chips are not noticeable when the piece is worn, and do not detract from the beauty of the design.
