Art Deco Platinum/Rolled Gold Plate Diamond Ladies Watch
A gorgeous diamond ladies watch from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This stunning timepiece has a delicate and feminine design crafted in platinum and rolled gold plate band. The sleek rectangular watch face made of platinum has a stylish Art Deco motif with geometric cutouts. Sparkling single cut diamonds and two baguette diamonds line the sides of the watch, sparkling radiantly in the light! Fine milgrain detail surrounds the bead set stones, and an engraved scrolled motif lines the edges of the setting. The face of the watch has blue metallic hands, and vintage numerals in black lettering above a white background. A winder can be found at the side, and the back is stamped "PLATINUM FUR" and engraved with the name "Asfasia." The rolled gold plate watch band is formed by two doubled strands of a finely woven chain, which are attached to a folding snap clasp at the ends. A safety latch and chain provides extra security when worn. (The watch is pictured with the safety chain unhooked to show the length of the piece when laid flat.) Stamped on the clasp is "Kreisler U.S.A. 1/40 - 10K. R.G.P. S.S. BACK" The interior of the watch is also marked "4N16 11" inside. A stunning vintage timepiece, this elegant watch would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurement: The entire length of the watch and band measures approximately 6 1/4" long and would fit nicely on a small sized wrist. The rectangular watch face measures 2" long, 3/8" wide, and 1/4" thick. The total weight of the piece is 13.0 grams.
Condition: The overall condition of the watch is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum watch or rolled gold plate band. The crystal watch face is intact and free of chips or scratches. The band's clasp, safety latch, and safety chain are all in good working order. One small accent diamond has been replaced to restore the piece to its original condition; all other diamonds are original and intact. Watches of this era should be cleaned and oiled periodically as part of proper maintenance.
