LUCIEN PICCARD 14kt Multi Gemstone Suede Watch
The name Lucien Piccard is known worldwide for excellence in watchmaking. A Swiss company founded in 1923, it used a variety of innovative techniques, creating some of the first slim-line timepieces and incorporating gemstones into the designs. Lucien Piccard watches have been worn by royalty and high profile celebrities throughout the years, but the company also crafted beautiful pieces of jewelry, which are now very appealing to vintage collectors and lovers of Retro fashion!
This fabulous Lucien Piccard wristwatch is a vintage piece from the 1960s! This colorful timepiece features a decorative "fruit salad" design encrusted with a multitude of natural gemstones. The face of the watch is set in 14kt yellow gold, and included in the ensemble of stones are citrines, amethyst, pearls, chrysoprase, peridots, sapphires, and more. Black suede and leather forms the band, which fastens at a gold buckle with a filigree honeycomb design. Gold ticks and dots mark the face of the watch, which also bears the name "Helene." The underside of the piece reveals an open back where the winder is accessible. The official "Lucien Piccard" signature appears on the underside of the band and watch face, along with the stamp "14K" and the serial number "C2903." This fabulous statement piece by a legendary maker is no longer manufactured, and would add life to any outfit!
Measurements: The square watch face and gemstone border measures 1 1/8" long and wide. The black suede band measures 1" at the widest point. The entire length of the watch band from end to end (including the buckle) is 7 3/4" long, with 6 notches to adjust the fit. It would fit nicely on a small to average sized wrist.
Condition: The overall condition of the watch is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, the face of the watch has no apparent scratches or dents, and all of the gemstones are intact. The original band also shows minimal signs of wear to the underside, which is normal for a pre-owned piece. Vintage watches may need be cleaned and oiled periodically to keep them in fine working order and keeping good time.
