International Watch Co. Schaffhausen Vintage 18kt Gold Pocket Watch
This pocket watch is a vintage piece by the International Watch Co. Schaffhausen (IWC) from the 1970s! Made of 18kt yellow gold, the watch case has a four body fabrication and is solid with a polished, hinged cuvette. The white enamel dial has painted Roman numerals, an outer minutes track, and subsidiary dial for the seconds at the "6" mark. Gold "Louis XV" hands rest on the watch face, which is signed "International Watch Co. SCHAFFHAUSEN" at the top. Inside is a 17 jewel Cal 982 movement, with fausses cotes decorations, a straight line lever escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a Breguet balance spring. The watch opens at the top, where a winder and handle can be found. Inside the watch are multiple markings and engraved personal inscriptions found within the case and the movement itself (please refer to pictures). An engine-turned pattern appears inside, where the watch is signed and hallmarked. Measurements: The pocket watch measures 2 3/8" in total length, including the winder handle. The dial has a 49mm diameter and measures about 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the watch is excellent. The watch is keeping good time and has no apparent damage besides minimal and normal surface wear due to age.
