Vintage Sterling Glass "Evil Eye" Triple-Sided Charm Pendant
Belief in the evil eye dates back to classical antiquity and beliefs have always varied across different regions and periods. Today, many cultures and individuals wear, own, or carry talismans to ward off the curse of the evil eye. The symbol was sometimes incorporated into jewelry, allowing the wearer to always be protected.
A wonderful Vintage charm depicting the classic evil eye symbol! Crafted in sterling silver, this 3-dimensional piece features a matching design on all three sides. A trio of white glass "eyeballs," each featuring a blue iris and black pupil, symmetrically embellish the sides of the pendant. Lightly scalloped bezels hold the glass eyes in place, and coiled wire lines the space in between, adding wonderful texture to the design. A polished round cap decorates the bottom and top of the piece, where a simple bail rests, perfect for adding to a favorite chain or charm bracelet. A unique and fabulous "evil eye" pendant, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The charm/pendant hangs about 3/4" long (including the bail at the top), and measures approximately 5/8" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. All three glass eyeballs are intact and securely set, however one has a very small chip near the top, which is not noticeable when worn due to the white color.
