Victorian Sterling Etched Floral Beadwork Rectangular Locket
A wonderful sterling silver locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This decorative piece is beautifully etched with a floral motif on both sides. A fine beadwork border surrounds the raised front surface, a wonderful finishing touch! When opened, the interior of the locket reveals two spaces to store special photographs inside behind removable glass frames. The locket hangs from a smooth sterling bail at the top, and would look perfect paired with a favorite silver chain. A wonderful example of Victorian sterling artistry, it would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The entire piece hangs 2" long (including the bail). The rectangular locket measures 1 1/2" long, 1" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is some normal surface wear to the sterling setting, including some small dents around the beadwork border. However, the imperfections are not unusual for a Victorian era piece, and do not detract from the overall beauty of the design when worn. The locket opens easily and snaps securely shut, and the bail is securely attached. Both glass frames inside are intact.
