$1,295

Bohemian garnet jewelry dates back to the 19th century. During this time, garnets were one of the most popular types of stones used in jewelry production. The garnets were often placed close together in an effort to produce a more pronounced color and brightness than when they were set singularly. Most often, bohemian garnet jewelry was set in a closed back setting made of rose gold gilt over silver; this method is sometimes referred to as 'garnet gold'.

A gorgeous Bohemian garnet pin from the Late Victorian (ca1900) era! Crafted in 10kt gold, the brooch has a wonderful 3-dimensional design depicting a 5-petal flower or clover. Each petal is represented by a luscious deep red garnet, all of which are smoothly polished and bezel set. A faceted stone rests at the center, and additional stones line the stem that peaks out from the base. Attached to the back of the piece is a secure pin clasp, which is attached to the base of the design. The placement of the pin clasp allows the brooch to hang at a stylish angle, or with the stem facing upwards. A wonderful antique piece, it is perfect for the garnet lover and would make a lovely addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The brooch measures 1 3/4" tall, 1 1/4" wide, and 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or bohemian garnet stones, all of which are intact and free of chips or scratches. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
