$4,895

Marsh & Company opened in the San Francisco area in 1876. Originally selling Asian art, the company soon branched out into jewelry. From the late 1940’s to the early 1960’s the company became well known for its use of oxidized steel in making their unique pieces of jewelry!

These Vintage (ca1950s) Marsh & Company earrings are a simply beautiful example of the company's unique style! Their Asian-inspired design has a gorgeous floral motif with a bold mixed metals fabrication. The earrings are made of blackened steel, which has been oxidized to create its wonderfully dark, matte finish. The panel of blackened steel has a flat surface which curls and dips inward at the middle. An 18kt yellow gold flower design is riveted to the front surface of each earring, depicting an upside down flower with delicate petals, leaves, and a curved stem. Two 18kt yellow gold balls hang from the flower and dangle in the open space where the steel curves inwards. A delicate gold ball adorns each side of the bottom edge of the earrings. The unique design has a gorgeous contrast between the black and gold colors, while allowing for elegant movement. Each earring is hinged in the back and features a curved steel clip to secure the earrings on the ear. The clamps are very secure, yet comfortable to wear and are suitable for both pierced and unpierced ears. These fabulous earrings have a striking and beautiful look that would make a very special addition to any Marsh & Company collection!

Measurements:  The earrings hang 1 1/4" long and are 3/8" wide at the top and slightly more than 3/4" wide at the bottom.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the blackened steel or gold. The clip-on clamps are very secure and in good working condition.
