Old-fashioned and Victorian era watches were generally wound using a small key that would fit into a space at the front of the watch. A fantastic and unusual watch key pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 9kt yellow gold, this 3-dimensional piece forms the shape of a realistic looking pistol. Fantastic carved details include a grip, hammer, cylinder, trigger, and an elongated barrel featuring the watch key opening at the end. Milgrained work and etched "screw heads" add wonderful textural details to the smoothly polished piece and the pendant hangs on an angle from a simple gold bail at the top, perfect for adding to a favorite chain. Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1/2" long (including the bail at the top), measures 1 7/8" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the watch key pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The bail is intact and in good working condition.
