Georgian 14kt Natural Pearl & Glass Window Mourning Ring

SKU: 39224

$1,395

A wonderful gold mourning ring from the late Georgian (ca1830) era! This lovely ring is made of 14kt gold, and has a carved floral motif that carries along each shoulder of the beveled band. At the center of the ring is a glass window, behind which a small lock of hair would have originally been stored. Surrounding the closed-back centerpiece is a delicate border of natural pavé seed pearls, which are creamy in color with a soft luster. An untouched patina rests within the grooves of the textured setting, providing further depth and dimension to the design. This stunning Georgian ring is an outstanding example of the mourning jewelry tradition, and would make a wonderful addition to any antique collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.75, but could possibly be resized slightly. The face of the ring measures approximately 1/2" long and 5/16" high.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the natural pearls are securely set, and the glass window is intact.
