Georgian Sterling Rose Cut Diamond & Pearl Necklace
A gorgeous diamond and pearl necklace from the Georgian (ca1830) era! This beautiful piece is comprised of a lovely Georgian pendant that now hangs from a fine antique chain. The flowing branch-like design is crafted in silver, forming an artistic and elongated lavalier. Delicate rose cut diamonds are belcher set throughout the closed-back design. Dangling freely from the center and the base are three natural pearls, which have a wonderful natural luster and shimmery off-white color. At the top of the pendant is a complimentary diamond surmount, which has a hidden bail on the back. The pendant has been hung from a fine antique sterling chain, which fastens with a simple spring ring clasp. On the surface of the setting is an untouched patina, which adds further contrast to the diamond and pearl design. A beautiful and elegant piece, it would be perfect for the antique jewelry lover or Georgian collector!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/4" long (including the bail) and measures 3/4" wide. The chain measures 18" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. All of the diamonds and pearls are intact. The chain is in good condition, and the spring ring clasp fastens securely. The original patina remains on the surface of the setting, which is normal for Georgian era jewelry and adds to its unique beauty and character.
