Edwardian Platinum/14kt Moonstone + Rose Cut Diamond Drop Earrings
A gorgeous pair of moonstone earrings from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! These stunning earrings are crafted in platinum topped 14kt yellow gold, and have a dramatic elongated drop design. A round, bezel set moonstone cabochon rests at the top, and dangles an elongated graduating link lined with old Rose Cut diamonds. The sparkling stones are set in platinum and surrounded by fine milgrain work, allowing the link to catch the light brilliantly with every turn. Freely hanging at the base is a larger round moonstone cabochon, and similar to the smaller moonstone, the open back setting perfectly showcases their clear, pale blue color and a subtle iridescent flash. Each earring hangs from a simple wire at the top, allowing them to frame the face beautifully and swing with lovely movement. An incredible statement piece when worn, they would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs a little less than 1 3/4" in length, including the wire at the top, and measure about 3/8" wide and is slightly less than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and gold setting. The moonstones and diamonds are all intact and securely set. The earring wires are secure and in good working condition.
