Late Art Deco Chinese 14kt Carved Sodalite Earrings

SKU: 41814

$895

A beautiful pair of sodalite earrings from the late Art Deco (ca1930s) era! These stunning earrings are of Chinese origin, and have a lovely dangling design set in 14kt gold. Each earring features a long rectangular link that dangles freely below a floral-shaped topper. The sodalite links are delicately hand-carved, displaying an attractive swirled motif on both sides. The overall effect is quite artistic, and representative of a traditional Chinese aesthetic. The sodalite plaques display a wonderful range of royal blue and teal colors marbled with grey and white throughout. Each plaque hangs from a textured leaf motif that curves over the edge of the stone and is riveted through the top. A round, polished gold topper featuring a beautiful curled rose petal motif attaches to the riveted stone, and simple earring wires are found at the top. When worn, the earrings are comfortably lightweight and dangle with lovely movement. They would be right at home in any vintage or modern jewelry collection!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" in total length. The teardrop jade plaque measures about 1 1/8" long, 1/2" wide, and a little over 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or earring wires, which are secure. The carved sodalite plaques are free of chips or scratches.
