Bakelite is a resin material that was produced in the early 1900's and was the first plastic substance made of synthetic components. Initially used for its electrically non conductive and heat resistant properties in radio and telephone castings, the material was also used in other products such as kids' toys, kitchenware and jewelry. Typically made of bold, beautiful colors, Bakelite has become very collectible over recent years and is appreciated amongst many.

A fantastic and funky Bakelite bracelet from the Retro (ca1940) era! This bangle has a complimentary polka dot design that is simple, yet stylish. The vibrant orange color has a semi translucent, subtle marbled appearance, while the opaque yellow dots are the perfect accent to the design. When worn, the piece slips on easily, and would look fabulous stacked with other similar bangles for a layered look. Both bold and fashionable, this bracelet is perfect for the Bakelite collector, and would make a fun addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The surface of the bracelet measures approximately 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick. The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) has a 2 1/2" diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there are no apparent chips, scratches, or damage to the Bakelite.
