Not many people are aware that Newark, New Jersey was a major hub for the manufacture of jewelry from the late 1800's until the 1950's. One of the leading companies, the Riker Brothers, has an early history that dates back to 1846. Their pieces are quite sought after and still remain highly collectible today.

An absolutely magnificent Riker Brothers bracelet from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) period! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this slip-on style bangle adorns 3 gorgeous sapphires set across the front surface and is a wonderful example of the Riker Brothers' style. The Square Cut stones weigh approximately 1.00ctw combined and exhibit an incredible rich blue hue that beautifully catches the light in their open back setting. A fabulous, flowing etched design decorates the entire outer surface, adding wonderful depth and texture to the feminine piece. Stamped on the inside of the bangle is a "14K" gold purity mark beside the signature Riker Brothers hallmark. With a hollow interior, the bangle is lightweight for comfortable wear and would look fabulous worn alone or stacked with other bracelets! An absolutely stunning piece, it would make a fabulous addition to any Riker Brothers' collection!

Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/2" wide and approximately 2 1/8" tall and would fit nicely on an average to medium size wrist. The surface measures slightly less than 3/8" wide and is about 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting and all of the sapphires are intact and securely set. There is some wear inside the bangle which is not noticeable when worn.
