Art Deco Platinum Diamond + Sapphire Engagement Ring 0.77ct Center
A gorgeous diamond and sapphire engagement ring from the Art Deco (1920s) era! Crafted in platinum, this wonderful piece adorns a gorgeous old European Cut diamond at the center of a fantastic and unique mounting. The central diamond, which is prong set within an octagonal shaped setting, has a total approximate weight of 0.77ctw and exhibits I/J color and I1 clarity. The platinum mounting displays a beautiful foliate motif detailed with fine milgraining and open wirework, and is encrusted with ten Single Cut diamonds, collectively weighing about 0.20ctw. Two rectangular French Cut sapphires and one triangular-shaped sapphire flank the central diamond to create an intriguing arrow design. The sapphires weigh an approximate total weight of 0.20ctw and contrast beautifully with the bright diamonds and the white platinum. The ring's band displays a delicate engraving to complete the design as the band tapers towards the back. The ring was appraised in March of 2021 by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Gemologist and has a stated retail replacement value of $4,500.00. The ring is absolutely stunning and would make for an incredible engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring is a finger size 6.75 but could be resized. The width of the band measures nearly 3/8" wide at the front and tapers to 1/16" at the back of the band. The ring is low profile, resting only 3/16" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The ring is in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. All of the diamonds are free of chips and scratches and are securely set. The sapphires display minor abrasion, but this is not visible to the naked eye and does not detract from the piece's beauty and integrity.
